Made In China

Lahat na lang ba, made in China?!

Nakakaloka... almost everything I've bought here in Australia is made in China. Clothes, shoes, socks,  winter sweaters and jackets, plastic things, cleaning implements, blankets. Even when window shopping, lahat ng tags puro made in China.

Nakakatuwa tuloy when occasionally I see a Made in Vietnam tag. I hope to see more Made in the Philippines tags soon. In the meantime, lagyan ko kaya ng tags ang mga anak ko?

  1. Yeah, that old 70s/80s song needs an update.

    Everything is
    made in China
    made [bum-pum]
    in Chi-na

  2. As a p.s. to this post, I'm happy to say that all call center agents I have spoken with since I got here are Filipino! So even if people all over the world use and wear things made in China, a lot of people around the world are being helped by Pinoys :)

What's even more surprising is, the first agent I spoke with for Lynksys turns out to be a distant relative of Ronald, who has the same surname, and is based in Dumaguete. Nakakalokah...

  3. there is a book i am reading now, "A year without made in China".. one family's chronicle of trying to live a year without anything made in china. syempre, mahirap at malapit na silang maloka. conclusion: it is very expensive to live a life without anything made in china!
